Pizzeria MOHO

Updated: Feb 24, 2023

Serving slices of history.

Volosko was home to geophysicist Andrija Mohorovičić, made famous by his discovery of Mohorovičić discontinuity. This is the boundary between the Earth’s crust and mantle, which was an important discovery within the scientific community, and gave rise to modern seismology.

What better way to commemorate this discovery than food with a crust of its own? Pizzeria MOHO does exactly that. It is located right in the heart of Volosko’s harbor. Nestled between more upscale restaurants, it provides a fun, family-friendly environment that everyone can enjoy. While sitting on their indoor-outdoor patio, visitors can watch boats come and go, and they have a front-row seat for the most beautiful sunset.

The menu caters to a variety of tastes, with options ranging from classic Margherita, to Slavonian Kulen, or even truffles. My personal favorite is the house specialty: Volosko Rolls. This creation wraps pizza crust around a blend of vegetables and is served with prawns in the center, providing a unique take on a classic pizza flavor.

The establishment is locally owned and operated, and the business owners do their very best to make everybody feel welcome. The restaurant is popular among Volosko residents, and it is not uncommon to see the same faces several nights a week. Make sure to arrive early, as seating is first-come-first-served. Enjoy a quality pizza served with a slice of history.
