A scene straight from the sea.
Clubbing in Paris - it’s every young person’s dream. The very idea of it sounds glamorous, especially when said young person has yet to turn 21, and has never even entered a real bar. From the moment my roommates and I stepped off the plane, it was our mission. Lucky for us, Ainsley is the best tour guide and had previously made all the arrangements.
After a quick power nap, we headed to the highly-anticipated destination: L’aQuarium. We waited in line for about a half hour, but we were too excited to mind. Chatting with our neighbors was entertainment enough, as many people had come from all across Europe. We muddled through a conversation with nothing but Google Translate and bravery. Additionally, the line was conveniently located within a perfect few of the Eiffel Tower. Onlookers watched in amazement as it sparkled on the hour.
Upon entry, the air around us was electrifying.
The doors opened up to reveal a scene straight from the sea. We were standing in the middle of a massive aquarium. Shimmering fish swam all around us, while women dressed as mermaids greeted us from behind the glass. The dim room was full of young, beautiful strangers, all of who seemed to be equally enchanted by their surroundings.
The drinks themselves were pricey, but the unique aquatic aura makes it well worth it. There are plenty of places to party in Paris, but if you happen to be there on a Friday or Saturday night, L’aQuarium is truly one-of-a-kind.
